Several of my good friends and I took a fall roadtrip down to Truth or Consquences, NM. We spent a wonderful weekend relaxing in the hot springs but the true highlight of the trip was a visit to the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge on our way back to Santa Fe. Every evening in the fall, at sunset specifically, the snow geese take flight into the red sky and the blue cranes migrate in to take their place. The moment was breathtaking and the sounds of the birds were haunting as they soared into the sunset. This was a once in a lifetime experience.
